Job Type: Contract [FULL TIME (>=30 HRS WEEKLY)[CONTRACT], [HYBRID]
Pay Range: $23/hr - $24.75/hr on W2
Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).

Position Description
Vaccine Equity Health Educator The Vaccine Equity Health Educator role is focused on providing support to diverse underserved communities in increasing vaccine knowledge, vaccine uptake, and access to vaccines. This position will also assist with coordination, technical assistance, monitoring, and data collection and reporting activities. A primary focus of the Vaccine Equity Health Educator will be to provide equity-focused in-person and virtual health education about vaccines, including but not limited to in-person presentations, virtual and in-person 1:1 meetings, virtual webinars, outreach at public health conferences to diverse audiences, as well as vaccine-related technical assistance.Other applicable response-related duties as assigned. The Vaccine Equity Health Educator will concentrate their efforts to collaborate with qualifying entities throughout Arizona to promote, assist, the Vaccine Equity Program. The Vaccine Equity Health Educator will work with our current state-identified vaccine vendors, and other public and private partners to promote and respond to immunization needs in Arizona. The Vaccine Equity Health Educator will also work on various projects in collaboration with team members within the Office of Health Equity to support the agency operationalize and infuse health equity best practices and to work with communities to reduce health disparities and inequities. The Vaccine Equity Health Educator must be able to commute to an office located in Phoenix, Arizona at least 2 days per week, with flexibility to telework within the state of Arizona. This role cannot be performed on a fully remote basis.
Skills Required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge Of: Public health and health equity practice, theory, and competencies, access to care and systems of care. Immunizations, including CDC recommendations for flu and COVID-19 (preferred, but not required). Program planning and implementation targeting rural, Tribal, medically underserved communities, local and statewide health and human service agencies and organizations. Skill In: Leadership engagement in public health, health and across social service sectors to address health equity issues and social determinants of health. Written and oral communication, planning and problem solving/resolution, organization, detail-orientation, and priority setting skills. Data collection and analysis. Ability To Work independently and in team/group settings, conduct basic research, multi-task and adjust to changing priorities, meet deadlines on short time frames, prepare and deliver formal and informal presentations, and respond to high volume workload and technical assistance requests. Work with diverse stakeholders and lead discussions about vaccine equity, health equity. Work independently. Support a diverse multicultural workforce that reflects the community, promotes equal opportunity at all levels of public employment, and creates an inclusive work environment that enables all individuals to perform to their fullest potential free from discrimination.
Skills Preferred
Experience Required
One-two years of professional experience related to public health, health programs, health education, case management, social work, or other closely related fields.
Experience Preferred
Master's degree in public health, social work, or other closely related work preferred, and may substitute for one year of required experience. PREFERRED Master's, BUT EXPERIENCE.
Education Required
Bachelor’s degree required.
