The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Financial Analyst prepares the annual budget, monthly forecasts, financial models, and data analyses to ensure effective monitoring of revenues and expenses, and to support informed executive decision-making.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare the annual budget and recurring forecasts for assigned segments of the organization.
Meet monthly with budget owners to ensure timely expense monitoring and accurate forecasting.
Collaborate monthly with accounting personnel to review budget variances, accrual requirements, and potential accounting adjustments.
Perform variance analysis on budget-to-actual results.
Develop financial models to support expense analysis, resource allocation, and decision-making.
Partner with budget owners to determine resource needs for pilot programs.
Provide budget training to all budget owners.
Complete assigned financial analysis projects.
Attend and actively participate in required training and/or meetings, including but not limited to New Teammate Orientation, WWP Cares, ASIST Suicide Prevention training, Leadership training, culture/team‑based training, or departmental huddles.
Other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Demonstrated financial analysis skills, including effective forecasting capabilities.
Ability to communicate financial information clearly and effectively to non‑financial teammates.
Knowledge of financial budgeting applications, with the skill to support selection and implementation and the ability to effectively apply these tools in operational processes.
Proficient in the effective and efficient use of financial budgeting and forecasting software.
Working knowledge of accounting and financial reporting software.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and data analysis.
Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet tight deadlines.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and ensure deadlines are met.
Detail‑oriented with strong follow‑through.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High energy level, self‑starter mentality, and demonstrated initiative. Strong work ethic with an enthusiastic approach to work.
Unequivocal commitment to the highest standards of personal and business ethics and conduct.

EXPERIENCE
Three years of finance experience, or an equivalent combination of education or experience, may be considered at WWP’s discretion.
PREFERENCES
Four years of experience in a finance role.
Experience in revenue analysis.
Experience in budgeting and forecasting with IT stakeholders.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or relevant field. Equivalent combination of applicable education, training, certification, and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Preferences
Master of Business Administration (MBA).
