Job Title: IRB Coordinator - Human Research Office
Job Summary: Plans and manages the daily business and administrative operations of the institutional review board (IRB). Provides specialized review, facilitation and support of human research activities.
Education & Experience Bachelor's degree plus two years of related experience or equivalent combination of education/experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of human research policies, regulations, and procedures. Verbal and written communication skills. Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports. Ability to provide guidance and training to professional and technical staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Plans and manages the IRB department's daily business and administrative operations, including invoicing and payments received.
- Reviews IRB submissions to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with applicable federal regulations and institutional policies.
- Provides daily coordination and facilitates interaction between research personnel and the IRB.
- Provides education and guidance to investigators and research staff regarding interpretation of applicable federal, state, and institutional regulations, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Recommends on how best to implement those regulations, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Independently oversees response to specialized and/or confidential information to and from federal agencies including issues of noncompliance.
- Prepares reports and maintains applicable records and files; maintains proper equipment and inventory levels.
- Reviews and interprets IRB administrative policies and procedures and recommends/implements changes as required to achieve objectives.
