Job Description

We are seeking motivated Legal Assistants and Paralegals to join dynamic law firms and legal departments in the Baltimore-Metro area. Ideal candidates will possess entry to mid-level experience in the legal field and demonstrate strong organizational, research, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Legal Document Management: Draft, proofread, and organize legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, subpoenas, and discovery materials.
  • Case Support: Assist attorneys in case preparation, including conducting legal research, compiling evidence, and preparing trial materials.
  • Client Interaction: Serve as a point of contact for clients, scheduling appointments, and relaying case updates.
  • Administrative Support: Manage case files, calendars, and deadlines using case management software; assist with e-filing and document retrieval.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with legal procedures and firm policies, maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Court Coordination: Prepare and file court documents and liaise with court personnel as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience: 1-4 years of experience in a law firm or legal department (entry to mid-level).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, case management systems, and legal research tools (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw).
  • Knowledge Areas: Familiarity with Maryland legal procedures, e-filing systems, and court documentation processes.
  • Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Multilingual abilities, especially Spanish, are a plus.
  • Certification from an accredited paralegal program is an advantage.
