We are offering a long term contract opportunity with a large law firm in Los Angeles, California. The role is for an experienced legal conflicts analyst who will be a key player in the governance program of our client's organization, providing subject matter expertise in areas including conflicts checks, new matter intake, ethical walls, records management, outside counsel guidelines, and audit letters.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver subject matter expertise in the governance program, including conflicts checks, new matter intake, ethical walls, records management, outside counsel guidelines, and audit letters.

• Conduct comprehensive conflicts checks for new clients/matters, pitches, prospective attorneys, and professionals.

• Prepare and analyze conflicts reports to identify potential conflicts issues and communicate these issues to attorneys and other relevant parties.

• Provide assistance in resolving conflicts and document matter lifecycle data in various systems.

• Process new matter intakes and provide administrative support for the intake review process.

• Analyze and review engagement letters and conflict waivers, evaluate the need for ethical walls and set them up in billing and document management systems.

• Draft and circulate ethical screening memoranda firmwide and monitor and maintain ethical screens.

• Process administrative records requests from clients and other departments and drive the outside counsel guideline review process and the audit letter review process.

• Advise attorneys and professionals on the firm’s governance-related policies and procedures.

• Collect, analyze, and prepare reports required for senior management, auditors, and other relevant stakeholders.

• Possess at least 2 years of experience in a similar role within the Professional Services industry
• Proven ability to perform Conflicts Checks and manage Data Governance
• Demonstrated proficiency in Governance Process, Electronic Records, and Records Management
• Familiarity with Records Retention and the ability to Draft Audit Reports
• Strong understanding of Ethics & Professional Responsibility in a legal context
• Experience with Client Intake processes in a legal setting
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability
• Proficiency in using standard office software and legal databases.
