QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED required. Must be a Certified Ohio Youth Supporter prior to client engagement.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Peer Supporter, within the Coordinated Navigation Program, under the administrative/clinical supervision of the Director of Operations, RHY, provides advocacy for and peer support to individuals ages between 13 and 25 years old who have been exposed to human trafficking, their guardian, and/or significant others as needed. This position ensures that services and materials are trauma-informed, youth- and survivor-centered, and culturally and linguistically responsive. The Peer Supporter collaborates with the Coordinated Navigator and program team to promote recovery and empowerment for survivors. This role requires flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends, and significant community-based work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  1. Deliver trauma-informed, survivor-centered advocacy and ongoing support to youth and families impacted by human trafficking.
  2. Share lived experience to build trust and rapport with youth and families.
  3. Provide emotional support, mentorship, and advocacy to clients in alignment with trauma-informed and survivor-centered principles.
  4. Assist clients in navigating systems and accessing resources, including housing, healthcare, and community supports.
  5. Participate in program meetings and case consultations as needed.
  6. Ensure all interactions maintain professional boundaries in accordance with State certification requirements.
  7. Support outreach and engagement activities to promote program accessibility and awareness.
  8. Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and services provided.
  9. Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards at all times.
  10. Maintain grant output reporting measures in accordance with grant requirements.
  11. Represent BJCB in partnerships with law enforcement, child welfare, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to ensure coordinated care.
  12. Provide training and education to community partners and law enforcement on human trafficking awareness and response.
  13. Assist with data collection, reporting, and evaluation to measure program effectiveness and meet grant objectives.
  14. Support outreach efforts, including development of materials to promote program accessibility and awareness.
  15. Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct, ensuring confidentiality and safety for all clients.
  16. Ability to qualify as an approved agency driver and maintain on-call availability via cell phone.
  17. Notify Director of Operations of any emergency situations involving client safety or well-being.
OTHER DUTIES:
  1. Attend scheduled staff meetings, supervision and on-going training that will provide the skills necessary to implement the program.
  2. All required trainings, certifications and licensure must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
  3. Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
  4. Assure that program staff maintains high standards of ethical and professional conduct.
  5. Respect the privacy of clients and hold in confidence all information obtained during the client's treatment. All client-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.
  6. Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotation.
  7. Valid driver's license and ability to meet agency driving requirements.
  8. Other duties as assigned by management.
