What you’ll do:

• Create intuitive and polished UX & UI and interactions with craft and care
• Develop concepts, prototypes and pixel-perfect deliverables to bring ideas into life!
• Design at various levels of fidelity such as wireframes, visual mockups, and high-fi prototypes
• Bring with you a strong sensibility of grid, type, iconography, and color theory
• Develop a deep understanding of Bandana’s brand, mission, and users to design products that serve people well; collaborate with product to ensure our brand and quality extends across everything we build
• Construct UI components and layouts that tie together our brand and key functionalities
• Refine and maintain our core design system, knowing when to leverage or build upon existing components for visual excellence and scalability
• Plan projects for effective delivery with iterations on designs based on feedback and user testing
• Have deep care and investment in people who use Bandana – make people feel cared for as they embark on finding better opportunities ❤️

Apply if you have:

• Proven record of bringing conceptions to production with craft and care in quick timeframes.
• Strong experience with UI and interaction design, with a deep understanding of what makes a user interface intuitive, engaging, and delightful.
• Eye for detail and a pursuit of perfection in every pixel and interaction.
• Comfortable working with ambiguous requirements and ability to quickly adapt and flex on direction of projects.
• Love working closely with product, analytics, user research and engineers to develop and iterate on interactive software experiences.
• Experience working with and contributing to design systems and style guides
• Proficient with Figma.

Lil extras:

• Knowledge of typographic and brand design principles
• Expertise in typographic principles, motion design, and illustration.
• Familiarity with the design systems, interaction patterns, and limitations of cross functional platforms - specifically Android, iOS, and web apps.
• A BA/BS degree in a Design preferably in graphic design or visual communication design.

Interview Process

The sales interview process typically involves a phone screen, portfolio review, and on-site interviews at our company HQ in New York.

Location & Work Policy

Bandana is based in the Williamsburg neighborhood in Brooklyn, NY. We believe in the power of face-to-face, personal connection. As a result, we are only considering in-person candidates.

Pay and Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is $180,000. Additional benefits for this role include: equity; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and a gym membership to VITAL, next to our office in Williamsburg. We also provide a relocation package if you are not currently located in the NYC metro area.
