Our team extends Slack's core functionality and fosters a robust ecosystem, owning the in-Slack experience, developer surfaces and architecture for all 3rd-party integrations and apps, platform interactivity as well as Work Objects—enabling direct, seamless interaction with external apps and data inside Slack. What you will be doing You'll brainstorm with Product Managers, Designers, Backend, and Frontend Engineers on your team to conceptualize and build new features for our large (and growing) user base You'll produce high-quality results by contributing heavily to team projects that have a significant impact on the business You'll actively own team features or systems and define their long-term health, while also improving the health of surrounding systems You'll work cross-team and cross-functionally to arrive at the best possible outcome for the business You'll assist our skilled support team and operations team in triaging and resolving production issues You'll mentor other engineers and deeply review code You'll improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes What you should have 7+ years of experience writing client-side Typescript, Redux and React Expertise in building complex layouts with CSS and HTML Experience building and debugging complex systems in a team environment Experience with modern browser technologies Strong UX and design sensibilities, and a desire to sweat the small stuff Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and empathy Self-awareness and a desire to continually improve A related technical degree required Slack has a positive, diverse, and supportive culture—we look for people who are curious, inventive, and work to be a little better every single day. For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $211,500 to $306,600.
