Description Clearwater Marine Aquarium is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of marine animals. As part of our commitment to providing an exceptional experience for our guests, we operate a vibrant cafe offering a variety of food and beverage options.
POP is seeking additional Stewards to assist in the daily food service preparations for the caf and catering events.
Performs other related duties, as required.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: - Maintains a clean kitchen, properly washes, and sorts soiled dishes, and preps foods as needed. Keeps dish area free of clutter and organized.
- Sets up dish stations, including dish machines and sinks.
- Assist with set-up and breakdown of all Banquet buffets.
- Facilitating all plate-up and delivery of all food the prospective functions
- Maintains clean / dry floors throughout the shift.
- Properly washes, stacks, and stores China, glassware, silverware, cookware, and storage containers.
- Changes water of machines and sinks every two hours, or more often as required by business levels, and properly uses chemical dilutions set by EcoLab.
- Assists in the timely storing of food deliveries.
- Maintains trash cans throughout shift and removes full trashcans and boxes at the end of each shift.
- Maintains the dry storage area and the organization of storage shelves.
- Assist with maintaining and organizing the China room and warehouse.
- Follows the posted daily dish cleaning duties.
- Assists in food prep and any other duties set forth or requested by the chef as needed.
Performs other related duties as needed.
Qualifications Education and/or Experience - 1+ year of experience working in a kitchen or as a steward is preferred, experience in customer service role is preferred.
- High school diploma of GED
- ServSafe Certified preferred.

Work Environment This position will report to and work out of the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. This position will spend majority of time in the kitchen and dish pit area where there will be hot water, chemicals, and typical kitchen equipment and utensils.
Uniform Requirements Adherence to Company Uniform Requirements outlined in the Associate Handbook, uniform requirements outlined in your orientation guidelines.
Non-slip shoes are necessary.
Physical Demands: - Prolonged periods of moving through kitchen, coolers, and storage spaces,.
- Manual dexterity to operate cooking tools such as knives.
- Physical endurance to work long shifts in a busy environment.
- Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items
- Ability to perform physical tasks; such as but not limited to, lifting approx. 40 lbs.
