Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring a NC or compact license, telemetry skills, and experience with Epic EMR.

Job Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a hospital setting,
• Care for cardiac and progressive level patients requiring telemetry monitoring,
• Night shifts, 3x12 hours (7:00pm-7:30am), with weekend and holiday rotations,
• No call responsibility,
• Patient ratios for PCU are 1:5,
• Epic EMR is used and experience is required,
• Must float to other units and campuses within the health system as needed,

Job Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required at time of consideration,
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required,
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale),
• Cardiac telemetry experience is required,
• Experience in management and interpretation of dysrhythmias,
• Peripheral IV and PICC line management experience,
• Ability to titrate drips required,
• Experience with PCU ratios of 1:5 is required,
• Epic EMR experience required,
• Must pass a required pass/fail EKG exam during compliance with up to two attempts,
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted,
• Education must be verified and not from schools on the Diploma Fraud Florida Education Audit list,
• No open cases on background check accepted,

Additional Information

• Responsible for comprehensive care including telemetry monitoring, IV and PICC management, and identifying cardiac dysrhythmias,
• Required to float within the health system as needed,
• Mandatory compliance modules will be completed during orientation and will vary by unit,
• Two attempts allowed for the required EKG assessment; study materials are not provided,
• Holiday and weekend shifts are rotated among staff,
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,
• Time off (RTO) must be requested at the time of consideration; RTO after consideration will not be accepted,
