As a Buyer at GoFresh Produce, you will be the steward of your product catalog, ensuring the highest quality products are sourced from the vendor and delivered to the customer. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Order Execution and Management: Place buys accurately and on time. Manage effective communications to ensure product quality through delivery, efficiently manage freight, protect margins and secure vendor protection when required. Deliver fresh inventory to the warehouse to meet anticipated demand at a regular and reasonable cadence.
System Maintenance: Maintain owned items within the company ERP (Produce Pro) and other documentation required to maintain accurate contacts, vendor profiles, product profiles and claims to efficiently and transparently maximize profit and promote business continuity across teams.
Contract Compliance: Meet or exceed contract compliance rate, including managing buyouts according to company policies.
Quality Assurance: Collaborate with receivers to inspect product quality upon arrival, and work with vendors to secure credits for items that do not meet our rigorous standards. Maintain awareness of lot quality and its impact on future deliveries, adjusting activities as needed to maximize customer fill rate.
Inventory Management: Review daily inventory and demand. Work with operations to protect GoFresh’s contracts by providing fresh and timely inventory whenever possible.
Performance Metrics: Meet or exceed quarterly performance metrics as outlined by the company in relationship to volume, fill rate, spoilage, and margin across key categories. Performance metrics are set on an annual basis and may be adjusted by the business as programs change and with reasonable notice.
This is a salaried position that includes an on-call weekend rotations with other buyers. Your role is pivotal in maintaining the quality and efficiency that GoFresh Produce is known for, and we look forward to your contribution to our team's success.
