This is a summer position in the Curator's Office of the Supreme Court of the United States in Washington, D.C. Closing Date : Saturday, 03/08/2025, 11:59 PM EST Duties The Curator's Office was created by Chief Justice Warren E. Burger in 1973 to record and preserve the Court's history. Its mission is to promote a greater public understanding and appreciation of the nation's highest court. The Summer Assistant provides entry-level support to the Collections Management department. Duties include participating in an inventory of objects in the collection, cataloguing in a collections management database, assisting with a collections maintenance program, rehousing collection objects, conducting high-resolution digital imaging, and assisting with historical research. Requirements Meet Experience Requirements (see Qualifications) Employment is subject to successful completion of a security background check. If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, you must certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System, or are exempt from having to do so under the Selective Service Law. Previous experience with museum collections, knowledge of collections principles and practices, and experience with The Museum System (TMS) or similar software strongly preferred. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and computer proficiency are required.
